Leaf didn’t know her parents. She barely got a glimpse of something that looked vaguely wirm-shaped when she was hatching. She had to figure out how to survive on her own. 

Since she wasn’t part of a colony, Leaf had to figure out how to hunt without scaring away her prey. She didn’t quite get it for a few months, but she foraged for food when she was unsuccessful. 

Because Leaf was abandoned, she became resentful towards the world, so she mostly stuck to herself.

Her first real interaction with another wirm was an accident. They ran into her as she was sneaking up on a mouse.

Beetle helped her figure out that not everybody hated her or was out to get her. Leaf meeting Beetle made her realize how lonely she had been, never talking to anybody.

Leaf didn’t want to meet other wirms at this point, and Beetle understood. They would visit her regularly, bringing food from their colony, and telling her about their week. Leaf also brought Beetle gifts, things that she made from what she found in the forest. They’re staying in touch while Leaf is living with you, and they’ll still meet face-to-face sometimes. Beetle convinced her that living with a human would be a good way to see that others aren’t all bad.

Leaf doesn’t often get angry. She enjoys finding interesting rocks in the woods and making things with what she finds lying around. She likes trying new foods and exploring. She would often spend her free time constructing outbuildings for her territory, and making sure that they were camouflaged so that no one would be able to find her hideaway.
